Recently, with the final pour of concrete precisely placed, the main structure of Zone 9 at the Sanya Qingliuyuan Water Purification Plant project was officially completed. This project is Sanya's first fully underground sewage treatment plant. Upon completion, it will further improve Sanya's sewage treatment plant layout and effectively alleviate issues such as insufficient sewage treatment capacity in the Baopo area of Sanya.
Unlike traditional water purification plants, the Sanya Qingliuyuan Water Purification Plant adopts a fully underground construction form. Apart from necessary auxiliary facilities, all treatment facilities are relocated underground. This allows the entire sewage treatment process to be completed in a fully enclosed manner, preventing sewage exposure. Furthermore, odors generated during production are unidirectionally conveyed underground via negative pressure suction devices to an odor treatment system for centralized treatment by sections, effectively eliminating odor emissions. As Sanya's first fully underground sewage treatment plant, it employs a zoned construction model to ensure progress. Zone 9 is the first area where the main structure construction has been completed. The main structure of Zone 9 involves 3 tanks, covering a construction area of approximately 7,800 square meters. The project is expected to complete the remaining main structure construction by the end of July.
The Sanya Qingliuyuan Water Purification Plant is designed with a treatment capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per day. Upon completion, it will further enhance Sanya's sewage treatment plant layout and serve a developed land area of approximately 18.23 square kilometers within its service zone. Above ground is a park, while below ground handles sewage treatment. This approach minimizes urban space occupation while treating sewage and simultaneously providing citizens with a recreational space. It will effectively alleviate regional sewage treatment capacity shortages, improve land utilization efficiency, enhance the water environment of Sanya, and contribute to greening and beautifying urban spaces.
